Farming

Note: This is part of the version 2.0 update which you may or may not have yet. This wiki often contains information on updates before they arrive.

Farming is an optional task which helps supplement beer production.

Prerequisite

Speak with Ruby on the farm south of the Junkyard. After buying enough barley from her, she will run out of stock and offer to sell you an old plot of land and a tractor. You will need both.

Location

The farm can be found in the Eastern section of the map. It is connected to the smaller tobacco farm.

Cultivation

You do not have to perform the seeding and fertilization yourself, but you must pay Ruby to do it for you. In the service shack at the farm, use the computer to select the plot size and fertilization levels.

Harvesting

The tractor has a harvesting header and a bag dispenser. To harvest the barley, turn on the tractor's harvesting header and drive over the barley field. The tractor will collect barley and dispense it in large bags behind the tractor. Be sure to only harvest the barley once its turned a golden color. Doing so beforehand will minimize returns.
